  • Programme Assistant – Intern

  • Location: Hargeisa, Somaliland 
  • Contract: 6 Months  
  • Reports to: HPM 
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible 
  • The Role: Oxfam Somalia is looking for a Programme Assistant – Intern 
  • RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Key Responsibilities: 
  • • Environment scanning using selected internet media – including social media to track  humanitarian and development related news and updates.  
  • • Prepare daily summary of environment scanning and share with the team. 
  • • Assist Managers to prepare weekly/monthly situation updates.   
  • • Reading and familiarizing yourself with assigned projects related documents – including  proposals, work plans, log-frames, report etc. for best of your knowledge. 
  • • Specific humanitarian and resilience program support related tasks will be developed once the candidate is onboard.  
  • Skills and qualifications
  • Who we’re looking for 
  • Skills and Competences: 
  • • Diploma or degree in communication, information management, project management or any  other relevant discipline in project management.  
  • • Self-starter organized and attention to details. 
  • • Effective communicator and interpersonal skill. 
  • • Intermediate level of Reading, Writing and Speaking skill in English and Somali languages and good understanding of cultural practices 
  • • Intermediate user of Windows Operating system, MS Office, Internet Applications and popular social media platforms.   
  • • Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and policies and experience of promoting gender equity  and diversity and the interests of marginalized people in all aspects of Oxfam’s work.
